True Friendships | Mommy's Birthday | Phone Photos by Michell & Mom | ©2014
. . . . .
I must have done something good in my life to deserve the kind of friends I have.
When my Mom turned a year older last August, my college friends organized a little get-together to make the day extra happy for Mom. I was in the hospital at that time and they told me not to worry (and just focus on getting well) because they were going to do something special for her. I was deeply touched.
They met up, ate, talked, and laughed a lot. My Mom loves them. And I know for certain my friends love and adore my Mom, too. And I will always be grateful.
They gave my Mom a lovely birthday cake baked by the baker extraordinaire, Ann, whose baked goodies we are all crazy about. Even my sister B (who has a wonderful talent in baking) raved about Ann's cake!
After their get-together, I called my Mom to ask how it went. She sounded very happy and only had good things to say. My heart swelled bigger than my right leg that day. :D
Thank you, all of you.
. . . . .
I have been friends with them since college. We were together in the school paper. We've nurtured this friendship for many years and we've become part of each other's lives.
They are the most thoughtful and the most considerate. They have compassion, kindness, and delicadeza stitched into their DNA. And it goes without saying that they are a smart and talented bunch. They are incredibly funny, too. When we are together, we could spend hours and hours talking about life, love, family, politics, plans, dreams, and lots of silly things in between.
We are also intensely loyal and supportive of each other.
I know I am very blessed to belong to a tribe of soul-beautiful human beings! (All my friends all over the world included). :)
