About a Picture and a Dream.

Now I know why almost always, it's the wealthy artists who have exhibits. The only chance the 'hungry' ones could have an exhibit, is when they have sponsors to back them up. That, or they do it bohemian style -- unconventional (no big sosyal galleries or malls) -- the way Dan and I are doing ours.
We already have an art statement. Everything is taking shape (except my photos. haha) and I'm excited. Ugh, it gets me teary-eyed thinking how, slowly, my one-day-I'm-going-to-have-an-exhibit dreams are coming true. Maybe, in the future, I will be brave enough to do a solo exhibit.
I hope you could all be there. We are thinking about holding the exhibit on my birthday. Your presence would be such an awesome birthday present.

About the picture:
I'm glad that my friend Joy cared enough to snap this picture of me, sitting in one of the galleries in the Louvre, staring at an artwork while daydreaming about having my own exhibit one day. I can't remember what or whose artwork I was staring at exactly, but I looked intensely spellbound. And I do remember daydreaming about having my work displayed in a gallery like that. Quite a big dream, huh?
Ah yes, that's me when I was thinner and had short hair. Utterly awed by the size and beauty of it all, I couldn't be disturbed by the ooohs and aaahs of fellow tourists. I sat there for a long time -- daydreaming and thinking, almost unbelieving that I was there, breathing a dream.
This picture is quite noisy (grainy) because this was taken by a point-and-shoot film camera. But look at those vintage tones and colors. Beautiful, no? It's exactly how I remember the Louvre -- like an old picture with lots of fascinating, charming, romantic stories to tell.
