An afternoon with kids.

Today, I am extra happy and grateful.

Some weeks ago, Bambi and I agreed to celebrate our birthdays together and instead of having a party, we decided to spend it in a foundation for abandoned kids. I'm glad Rissa opened up the idea about us doing something like this. We're lucky that we have the most generous, supportive friends.

The foundation has a wishlist and we pooled our resources to grant some of them -- a food processor, a juicer, a sack of rice, about 200 diapers, food, and time... just holding the kids and spending time with them. I prepared some loot bags of chocolate and cookies for the big kids, too.

It was a moving experience. Being there just puts everything about one's life in the right perspective.

No one deserves to be abandoned. It was difficult, leaving those kids. The entire time we were there, they were so happy. The moment we left, they all started crying. It was heartbreaking.

Sharing photos of today...

Before heading off to the foundation, we had lunch at Sugarhouse
mainly because this branch filled their walls of photos I took! :D
That, and they serve delicious food. :)

Those are my photos, too! Proud friend Edeena.

Wadel giving us some background information about the foundation.

Someone's not listening! :D

We were not allowed to take photos of the kids (which is just right),
but some rebel person still did! Tsk. :P

I fell in-love with him. He's the sweetest little boy.
No picture-taking lagi! Pastilan! LOL

Edeena feeding a child? Miracles happen. Haha. *peace Edeena!*

We ended the day with laughter and conversations over pizza, pasta, and gelato at Amici.

8 left some love :

How cute are the kids!

This reminds me of a two-year old "anak-anakan" whom I visited yesterday. When I left, she was crying her hearts out. I wanted to bring her home again, but that will not happen till this coming Thursday when the person who will look after her would come.

My heart breaks, Ai!

I miss Sunshine Home in Bohol. I really like spending time at an orphanage.

This is such a great way to give back, Ai! So proud of you! Bless your heart!

It's heartbreaking, Badeth. Children are supposed to be loved and cared for. Your anak anakan do feel loved when she's with you. If only we could bring every kid home no? :)
