Birthday in Pictures.

There were only five of us, my first birthday celebration without most of my friends. Shadie is in Indonesia for her new assignment. Rissa is in Canada for a meeting. Sharon is in New York to study. Jennette is in UN Nepal. Imee decided to go Trick and Treating with her nephews (a week delayed, huh?). Good thing Angela, the one who isn't always around, flew back from Dubai (she was in transit to Kabul) when the UN Guest House was attacked. She was actually the one who invited us to a weekend getaway.

So Angela, Chris, Bambi, Edeena and I headed off to Villa Trono in Batangas for a quick dive and an overnight stay. It was magical and happy!

We were greeted by smiling, friendly staff, and these delicious ensaymada! They made the long drive all worthwhile.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I loved their coffee!

The lunch spread. Everything in this house seem to be sprinkled with love. The food is soooooooooooo yummy!
I don't eat ocra at all, but their ocra ensalada was so delicious!

After a long lunch, we decided to dive at the Cathedral. But it rained, so we enjoyed the rain before heading off to sea.
We ran around this little space like crazy while it rained. LOL

The dinner spread. Those shrimps were so fresh.
And everything that night was a joy to the tongue.

Of course, the mandatory birthday song. Haha.

And the mandatory toast. The staff prepared coke and gin combo for us. But I don't drink alcohol, so I just had coke.

My magic umbrella. I used to drop by the ADB shop every afternoon after work just to check
if they already had stocks of this umbrella. Edeena got me one! Yey! Thanks, Edeena!
Yes, I love umbrellas. I already have seven umbrellas I seldom really use.
I even carried two umbreallas from Japan! I am shallow like that. Haha.

I woke up to this beauty. The view from our room.

This is the dive point, a few meters away from the hotel.
I decided to take a walk early in the morning while my friends were still asleep and take pictures.
I wasn't able to take photos during the dive because it was raining and I certainly didn't want to soak my camera with rain. *grin*

The view from the dive point. That little white building on the mountain on the right side, that's Villa Trono.
Beautiful, isn't it?

Nature and christmas balls, the entrance staircase is filled with these.
When you look up, this is what you'll see.

This is the after-dive shower area. Nice, huh?

The breakfast spread. We all overate! *burp*

We decided to take breakfast outdoors, overlooking the sea.

To be looking at this while eating breakfast, how perfect is that?
We all stayed here the night before, too (after dinner), had our coffee,
enjoyed the night breeze, talked our hearts out, and watched the moon rise.

The company. And always, it is about the company. All the beautiful things are just a bonus.

. . . . .

I loved the simplicity of it all. No makeup, no complicated stuff, no wardrobe worries, no divas.

It was all about what was real. And I like that.

It was truly magical, Pat. I wish though that you all were with me that day.

Thank you.

Was it the text about you being in the doctor or something? My phone is acting quite weird. Sometimes, it won't show sender's name. =D

That's my natural hair, Lou. I wish it were a bit tamed. It could sometimes be so buhaghag. LOL
