Tearing down the walls.

I saw it on tv today, Lucy said the first time she hugged Douglas Q was in his coffin. I found that really sad. And it also struck me. Because you see, I'm very guarded. I'm not the type who hugs, touches, or holds people. Unless I consider them very close to me (or one of my nephews and nieces). I'm a big ball of awkwardness when it comes to these hugging stuff.

It takes a rather long time for me to warm up to people, and longer time for me to let them into my circle. But the moment I do, I tear down the walls I've painstakingly erected around me.

That short clip about Lucy made me think about tearing the walls completely and be less guarded. And just hug, and touch, and hold. And let go of doubts or inhibitions.

Because really, how sad is that, that we only muster the courage to hug someone only when they're already gone?

So, I think I'll start hugging people.. including you..one fat big bear hug.

Hi Jops! I guess, those of us who've been hurt deeply built the strongest walls. Let's start hugging, Jops, especially those we love. =)
