Today's Inspiration.

A flickr-friend of mine posted a photo of herself holding her Nikon D3, she wrote:

I remember once I was told "no, you can't be a photographer, because you're young and you're a woman".
Thank myself, I didn't listen to all those comments. And now, my D3 is my best friend. And I wanna be a good photographer.

She tremendously inspired me for these reasons (and more) --

One, she is an AWESOME photographer. She really is very good at what she does.

Two, there's a lot of humility in her statement. Well, she really is such a humble person.

Three, she never gave up, never listened to discouraging words from people. Instead, she followed her calling and pursued photography no matter what.

And lastly, she is now an official photographer for the most powerful man in the world, always just a few feet away from him.
How truly awesome is that?

Dreams come true, if we are brave and crazy enough to chase them, believe in them, work hard for them.

I feel so blessed. Even in cyberspace, I am surrounded by the most amazing women.

it's really quite horrifying how people would come out and tell someone how he/she can't be something in this life. i don't think anyone has any right to limit somebody else's ambitions. but it happens... and it's even more amazing how a special few will forge on, closing their ears to the negativity, and in the process, achieve their dreams.

There are many mean-spirited, dream-killers in the world, Jops. And it's truly sad. You are right, no one certainly has the right to limit and discourage people from reaching their dreams.

It's truly amazing, though, how strong-spirited some people are. :) Inspiring.

This is truly inspiring, Ai! This is a good testament that anybody can do anything if they only work hard for it! And it doesn't matter who you are, what your gender is and where you come from!

It's so true, Liz! Her story just inspired me to work harder for my dreams. :)
