My Heart.

Had my 2D echo and stress test over the weekend. It's kind of strange, to actually see your heart on a monitor and hear your own heart beating. Dub dub, dub dud, dub dub. Metaphorically, I always listen to the beating of my heart. But to actually hear the real thing is a different story. I immediately felt a bit scared upon hearing the first beat from the machine speakers.

But I realized as quickly what a miracle it was to hear it. I imagined my heart pumping blood to my brain and to the rest of my body. How hardworking my heart is, never stopping for a moment to do its job, even when I take it for granted.

My heart, it has been the most faithful.

An afterthought (edit: 1:20am) --
Was supposed to have my tests interpreted by a Cardio tonight, but the traffic was so bad. Must wait for Saturday.
So yes, I do not know yet if the heart is well.

. . . . .

If only I could be half as faithful in keeping my heart healthy.

I am going to run, because I can't give up ice cream and chocolate and humba. LOL. I'm going to run three times a week. And dance, three times a week. I hope that six out of seven days would be enough to make it healthy.

. . . . .

Photo: An old one. Just re-posting.

You've got to take care of yourself Ai. It is very important. I hope you get some balance and don't overwork your heart, you have to eat well too.

I actually do not know yet if the heart is OK.

I haven't gone to the doctor for the interpretation of my test results. I was supposed to, tonight. But the traffic was so bad.

Anyway, I am still hoping that the heart is well. :)

You made me laugh at 'expired.' LOL

You are sweet. Thank you, Chel. :)

I will, Tita, thank you. You are right, I must strike some balance between making the heart work and giving it some rest.

About eating well, I terribly need discipline! :D

I'm not going to eat humba straight for 90 days, so I guess, that's ok. LOL.

I'm trying to keep that promise, Lou. :)

You CAN do a marathon, Ai!

Lynette February 11, 2010 at 1:57 AM

Hello Ai,

I also had my 2D echo and stress test back in 2002. That was quite "the" stressful time of my life. I had to take beta blockers. I didn't exercise, nor watched my diet. BUT.. I learned to let go of the "stressors" in my life. *grin*

Thank you for saying that, Min. Coming from someone who runs, it means a lot to me. One day, I would like to run with you. :)

Hi Nette! That's what I'm doing, too -- letting go of the stressors. :)

You can do it!

I wish someday I can run the marathon too. Pero for now, dili nalang ko mag-hope 'coz I know I can't do it. :-)

Aileen Siroy February 21, 2010 at 2:12 AM

Thank you for your encouragement, Liz! :) Someday, let's run together. :)
