Conquering Mt. Pinatubo (part one)

Nice, fun, awesome companions.
From left to right: Bambi, Me, my 2nd bestfriend Edeena,
my other bestfriend Obel, and bestfriend-in-training Val. Haha.
Quick pose while waiting for our 4x4 jeep.
. . . . .
Before the trek started, there was the 4x4 jeep ride. It deserves a blog entry because even though it isn't the highlight of the adventure, it added fun to the whole experience. It was long, dusty, and bumpy. No, make that VERY long, VERY dusty, VERY bumpy. I'm not complaining. Didn't complain. It was an essential part of the adventure. And as I said, it was FUN.
We passed through rocky streams, dusty terrains, steep mountain roads they call the skyway. The one-hour and a half trip wasn't so bad. Beautiful sceneries and magnificent landscapes were feast to the eyes. They looked like paintings or backdrop for movies. Love.
But then, this jeep ride also made me realize that behind all these beauty and this awesome adventure, there are people who live there. I got a taste of what these people go through just to go home. Or what the locals, just to earn, must go through. As a tourist, I did it once. But the 4x4 jeep drivers and the guides do it almost everyday. And it's not easy.
The jeep ride ended at the trek starting point.
The trekking part is, of course, another blog entry.
