Little Prayer.

My grandmother was rushed to the hospital today. Low hemoglobin. I worry.

I always visit my grandparents when I'm in Cebu. My visits meant conversations and reminiscing about the past. They love to tell me stories. And listening to them always makes me feel proud that I am their grandchild.

But they're really old now. It's heartbreaking to see them very weak. They're always sleeping now. And when they're awake, they only remember bits and pieces of their past.

The last time I visited them, my grandmother barely spoke. My grandfather, on the other hand, asked me: "Where's my watch?" "The one I gave you?" I asked. "No" he said, "the one I bought with my first salary." And then he remembered that he lost it because he left it in his office bathroom. He looked at me intently and shed silent tears. He cries happy tears when I'm around.

My grandmother is my grandfather's strength. And I think that she's the only reason why he's holding on. They're both old and sick. And if it's not too much to ask, please say a little prayer for them -- for grandma especially who is trapped in a hospital bed right now. Thank you.

Ai, my family and I are going to attend a Gratitude Day in San Francisco tomorrow with the entire Salesian Sisters, we'll offer the mass on her behalf and whisper some prayers for a speedy recovery.

Hugs from all of us.
