Jen, John and Yoko.
Last weekend, we tried John and Yoko Cosmopolitan Japanese over at GB5. Met up with Jennette there (who is back in the country from Nepal) for late lunch.
While I actually loved what I ordered and that I was fascinated about the Japanese food with a twist concept, I still prefer real Japanese food.
The resto's decors are modern and the service, fast and friendly. Apart from Japanese food, they also offer pizza, pasta, and burgers. Good place to dine with friends or celebrate birthdays. This resto is almost always full during dinner on weekends, so call ahead for reservations.
Overall, it was wonderful. More than the food, it was the company of Jennette and CBB that made eating there (and that entire afternoon in general) fabulous.
We talked and laughed about anything and everything for straight five hours. We did a lot of catching up. Jen has been away from the country too long, working as an expat in Congo, Myanmar, and Nepal.
After lunch, we headed off to Gelatissimo for gelato and coffee and more conversation.
The weekend certainly was all about food, friendships, and celebrations.

Crunchy Tuna. This has amazing flavors and texture. And I like that it's a bit spicy.

Tuna sashimi. I didn't try that but Jen said it's fresh and really good.

Wagyu beef and bacon. I don't really like beef, but this one just melts in your mouth.

Flavorful, but not really my taste, these two.

After gorging on gelato, we had some dose of caffeine.

Wise, funny, and no-nonsense -- that's Jennette.
