My immediate family is small -- just me, Mom, and my three sisters. But I grew up with happy memories of Christmas Eve. Mom always made sure we had food and games and gifts and laughter. It has become a tradition. No matter how little we had, we would wait until midnight, have noche buena, and we'd have games, light sparklers, and then open our gifts.
And then Baden had the awesome idea that each year, we should have a theme.
This year, we all dressed as hippies. We raided Mom's closet and accessories!
D wore my tie-dye shirt I wore during a Christmas luau party at UNDP.
Yes, I was once that small. LOL. Binky wore D's ukay dress she wore during
UP's cookout two years ago. Mom's wearing her own red blouse and bell-bottom pants.
ukay top Mom bought for me. All accessories are Mom's! :D
Even the boys wore Mom's ukay clothes! LOL.
The house was in a happy chaos. We were laughing so hard.
Sadly, I wasn't able to take pictures because I was enjoying too much.
They are the coolest teenagers I know. Unlike most teenagers who don't like
involving themselves in family activities, these kids just get into it and enjoy.
Eugie even drew a mustache! And they did enjoy the activity a lot!
Our little Dennis The Menace! LOL. Three-year-old Anyo had so much fun, too!
Aiana is almost a teenager. And she's growing up to be very smart
and talented and kind. Amazing girl she is.
D and 11-year-old Aiana. Minus D's 3-inch heels, Aiana is almost as tall as she is.
I am very proud of these two.
A promise for 2011 -- allow people to take my picture. :)
Azenith fixing Aiana's hair during noche buena.
Didn't take much picture. I was too busy gorging! :D
Mom redecorated and re-painted the house for our homecoming.
She even installed an aircon in my room (Binky's old aircon unit)!
Yes, our house only has fresh air. After all, we live in the boondoks. :D
But her princess (that's me. haha) has asthma and needs a cold room. LOL.
This used to be my assignment -- distribute gifts -- now, it's D's. :)
It was a very happy Christmas eve. We all received lovely, thoughtful gifts from family and friends. We are all very grateful.
For me though, the greatest gifts were voices I could hear, skin I could touch, and many many good thoughts sent my way. Thank you. :)
I am very grateful to/for my family.
. . . . .
Added a purple tone to the photos because we have very old photos that have turned a little bit purple and I'm really loving it! :)
