One of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting invited to document milestones in people's lives. You get to witness these moments and hold this special place of capturing them.
I love these occasions. There's a lot of positive energy and love going around. That was why, when my friend Joy asked me to be their photographer for Mama's 75th birthday, I immediately said yes. If my memory serves me right, she booked me almost a year ago just to make sure I'd be there.
Truth be told, I wouldn't miss it for the world. They're like family to me and I was extremely happy to see them all again. These are people I know who will always love me and will always think kindly of me no matter what.
It was wonderful to see Mama looking so well and happy. It was such a heartwarming and fun celebration with lots of good food and laughter. Mama was surrounded by family and friends that day.
