In Clumps and Trickles.

Every day, we unravel finely knotted ropes of history and self.
We learn in clumps; we love in trickles;
and everyday is a day we spend teaching ourselves memory of each other.

I always say that our photographs (or the many other things we do for that matter) reflect who we are or the state we are in. And I have noticed that my recent work has been like these photographs of Chie -- light and peaceful with hints of quiet strength in them. And this is all because life has taught me many new valuable lessons lately. I have also been making a lot of changes and choices because sometimes, we have to, no matter how hard it is.
I am in this huge lovely space of gratitude, too. Gratitude for all good things in my life. Gratitude for all the people who hold my heart in kindness and unconditional love.

And this is Chie, the girl D and I photographed last Sunday. I did her makeup, too. She's soft spoken and sweet. I was so surprised to know that she was a taekwondo champ when she was in college. She's an amazing girl.
This is another wonderful thing about photography -- you meet a lot of awesome and inspiring people. And it also makes you realize even more that there is purpose (and meaning) in every human connection.
