For Love of Country.

Yesterday's taping/shooting for the government's National Greening Program advert was held at the DENR Parks and Wildlife Center. Three celebrities were chosen to take part -- Boy Abunda, my sister Dionne, and Drew Arellano. And all three gave their services for free, for love of country. :) This makes me extra proud of my sister, D.

Of course, the highlight of my day was meeting and photographing Boy Abunda.

Such an amazing day. :)

One of the reasons why I was so thrilled to meet him was because he is an inspiration to me. He comes from a small town who made it big in the big city. You see, D and I are small town girls who came to the big city to pursue our dreams.

I witnessed Boy in action infront of the camera. He was professional. He focused on the job and on the message instead of himself. No diva-ness in his bones. He even changed shirt on the set. A staff told him he could change in the bathroom and he said: "It's ok, I'm born a boldstar" which cracked everyone up.

He was not self-conscious nor self-centered. He was very pro-active. Most of all, he was very nice to everyone. Not the i-am-nice-to-you-because-i-am-a-celebrity kind of niceness. It was genuine.

They have a frame together. Here, practicing their lines.

It showed on their faces how happy they were to be part of this.

The amazing people behind the advert with D and Boy --
Asst Director Mico, Media Consultant Joel Paredes (he used to be our Media Consultant in UNDP, too), and direk Chris.

Staff and crew checking out frames of D.

An afterthought:
Here, my photo with Boy Abunda taken from the mobile phone. *grin*

Thank you, Pat! :)

It's an Executive Order supporting total log ban and Proclamation No. 125 declaring 2011 as National Year of Forests. The program aims to plant 1.5 billion trees in 6 years (2011-2016) and encourages everyone (including kids from grades 5 and up) to plant 10 trees annually.

It is ambitious and at the same time inspiring. :)

i love Boy Abunda! i've always loved him -- he's the reason i watched The Buzz before and not that other woman with him (hehe, sorry!).

looking at these photos brings a smile to my face, AI. your photos always have a way of doing that. :D

I admire people who remain humble despite their success. I hope there are more people like Boy and your sister in our country. Every bit of goodness will go a long way and will bring about change towards the better! :-)

Hahaha. Me, too. I like him. He's not mean-spirited. And really good at what he does. :)

Happy that my photos bring a smile. I must be doing something right. :)
