Once in Awhile...

My sister D texted me yesterday: "Ate, you know I love you, right?"

I replied: "Yeah, why?"

Then she texted the sweetest thing: "Wala lang, I just want to let you know that. Your strength inspires me in so many ways, Ate. Thank you."

I feel very grateful that I am surrounded by people who constantly remind me that I am loved. I guess, we all need people in our lives who will never get tired of telling us and making us feel that we mean something to them.

And yes, once in awhile, we need to hear --

... that we are loved

... that we are adored

... that we are missed

... that our life is being witnessed lovingly and kindly

... that someone is taking notice

... that someone's life has been changed and inspired because of us

... that we are thought about often

... that those who've hurt us are sorry for causing us pain

... that we are forgiven

... that our strength has inspired someone

... that our mere existence gives someone joy and meaning

... that we are beautiful and perfect (even if we are not) in someone's eyes

... that we are someone's one great love.

Dear Aileen,

This entry is so nice. It brought me to tears. It made me feel how few people do this to me.

Well I guess that's not the point. The point is there are persons, (even how few they are) who make us feel that we matter. Thanks for always making me feel that way Ai. You make me feel like I do and I get goose bumps all the time. I love you my friend.

You are very sweet, Cinds. Thank you. I love sharing things I love and if in the process, they inspire others, it's such an amazing bonus. I feel very blessed to have known you, too! :)

I LOVE the photo! This will be another hit at Flickr! Tig-Flickr pa ba ka, Ai?

Thanks for sharing these reminders. In a way, you are also reminding us of what we all need--to feel good about ourselves and to not take people who love us for granted.

Thank you, Liz! Sadly, I don't do flickr anymore. I so wanted to go back. But it takes a lot of my time. I have such a loving community there and I somehow feel sad that I don't flickr as much as I used to.
