Friendships.

In her five years here in Manila, I am glad that my sister D found so many great and true showbiz and non-showbiz friends. I am assured that if I am not around, she has people she could run to.

It's only time though that can test if our friends will remain loyal and true and if our friendships will last. I hope that D's friends will remain her friends forever. I hope that none of them will ever betray her. And I hope that D will equally be a true friend to each of them.

She has friends younger than her. She has friends her age, too. And I'm happy that she also has a group of old friends who are my age. She has a bunch of ates and kuyas.

I'm the least 'showbiz' person in my family, so I am finding her life (and friendships) quite fascinating, amusing, and surreal.

For instance, I used to just watch Yayo in Bagets years back and now she's friends with D. Then there's Ara who invited D to her birthday party recently. Or Jennylyn who texted D years back if she could hang out at my place while she waits for her call time. How surreal is that?

Come to think of it, who wouldn't be amused if an artista drops by your Mom's office for a quick hello?

Photos grabbed from Mom's FB page. Yes, Mom has FB! :D

It was during her Bacolod trip last summer when D met Ara, Dennis, Ian V, and Jason A. They were all members of the basketball (men) and volleyball (women) teams that played in Bacolod then. While waiting for their flight back home, D called Mom and those four passed D's phone around to talk to my Mom. Sweet, right? They all have kept in touch since and have become good friends.

I'll probably never meet any of them, but I love them. I love those who love my family (those who love my Mom, especially). :)

And then I met Vhong and Archie during the Magic Ball. They accompanied D at the hotel lobby while she waited for me to pick her up. The party was still ongoing at that time but those two left for awhile just so D could have some company while waiting for me. I appreciated that a lot.

It was an honor to meet Ms Linggit Tan, too, who was very gracious. She said: "Magaling yan si Dionne kaya suki namin siya sa drama."

Friendships -- one of the things I'm grateful about today.

8 left some love :

what a lovely entry! =) i'm glad D has found real friendships with really nice people in the business. i can only imagine how nasty that world can be sometimes, so it's a real blessing for her. but then again, she's a lovely soul and therefore will attract equally lovely souls, right?

Dionne is a wonderful person to be around with, walay kaartehan and so unconscious of herself..maartista or an ordinary person will love her once they spend time with her..she;s humble and has no air of importance..people just give her importance because she is just nice to be around with;-)

Thanks, Pat! That's true, it's such a blessing to find true friends. I hope she will only be surrounded by the real good ones. :)

Thank you for all your kind words, Chel. I'm really glad D doesn't have any air of importance and that she's grounded. I hate people who are so 'feeling sikat.' You know I'd be the first one to tell my sister if she'd ever act that way.
