Beautiful 2011.

Last year was utterly beautiful year despite some loss and bouts of illness. I choose to see the good in it because really, a very big part of 2011 was incredible and happy with lots of wonderful surprises.

Here, I am making a list of the highlights and milestones I'm grateful about in 2011.

. . . . .

It was last year that I had my first newspaper feature. What were the odds of me getting featured out of 90 million people in this country? I will always be thankful to CDN for having seen me.

I had travel articles published. Thank you, CDN, for asking me to submit articles and opening doors for me.

. . . . .

I traveled. Although I did not travel as much as I used to, but the trips I made were very memorable. I went to Laoag and Vigan with Jingjing (who I've been friends with for more than 20 years). I also did quick trips to two of my favorite cities - Cebu and Tagaytay. I went to Legaspi and Donsol, too.

In Donsol, I swam with whale sharks. In Legaspi, I gazed at the majesty of Mt. Mayon.

And then I went to Davao and Samal Island for a lifestyle show. This was one of the greatest surprises last year. I never thought I'd be on TV, even in my wildest dreams. But more than being on the show, it was gaining new friends that I am incredibly grateful about. I will be in another episode this Tuesday! *grin*

. . . . .

Last year, I got to own my first Macbook Pro and an heirloom Constellation watch. I am also very grateful for all the simple little things that make me happy -- letters, calls, postcards, notebooks, notepads, pens, band-aids (haha), hairclips, bags, and friendship certificates (Hi Angela)!

. . . . .

Having the privilege of entering into people's lives by photographing many important moments in their lives. Yes, I covered weddings and birthdays and events of amazing people.

Took portraits of REAL beautiful people.

. . . . .

I got invited by the PLDT Camera Club to give a speech. It was such an honor. It was also wonderful to be surrounded by so many talented people.

I received a ton of heartwarming emails and messages from friends and strangers (mostly about my photography and blogs). I will always be grateful.

Teaching photography and post-processing kept me busy. And I love teaching!

. . . . . .

Repainted and re-decorated my home. It's now black and white with splashes of red. My work space got featured at daintymom.com! Grateful to know Martine, the Dainty Mom, because she's one of the most inspiring human beings out there.

Met and had conversations with a lot of interesting people. I shall never forget that afternoon where I had coffee and conversations with Bishop Cruz.

. . . . . .

I am generally a peaceful and happy person but it was last year that I actually wrote an angry letter to that libakera girl. No one messes with my family and gets away with it! I am grateful I am no longer friends with people who do not know the meaning of friendship and loyalty. :)

My sister Azenith and her family left for Canada. My sister immediately found a job, her husband has been promoted, the kids formed a band and are in their school's honors list.

My sister D has been very busy with shooting and taping. And I hope she'd have more projects this year.

Mom got a part in an indie film -- My Paranormal Romance. And she was awesome in the film!

. . . . .

Blogging. My blogs have been vehicles for me getting invited to events, travels, and meeting fabulous people and gaining new friends.

I also loved all the time (weekends and dinners and and coffee and movie dates) I spent with my family and friends. Everyone made me feel very loved. And they allowed me to love them the way I know how.

Knowing (albeit online) and meeting so many fabulous, talented, and inspiring people like Tuesday, Martine, Frances, and Miguel. They are the nicest people, too!

My most favorite part of 2011 was strengthening my bond with old friends and gaining new ones.

. . . . .

And although I lost my Grandpa last year, I comfort myself in the thought that he is no longer in pain and that he is in a better place now. I still miss him everyday.

Big THANK YOU to everyone who has been a part of my 2011. And thank you, 2011, for flying by so fast and for being fabulous! I am very grateful to my amazing God!
