Our dearest Angela turned 11 last September. And since we haven't celebrated her birthday yet, we agreed to have a little get-together last Sunday to celebrate her wonderful 11 years.
The girls (Angela and Monica) suggested we go to Rockwell because, I think, they wanted to buy candies at Made in Candy. Strangely though, we all forgot to grab some candies before we went home.
The girls picked Shi Lin for our super late lunch. And I'm glad they did. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to try this restaurant on my own, mainly because I rarely really go to that side of the mall.
We all loved the food. And each other's company.
Thank you, E, for the treat!
That's Angela, who seem to have grown tall overnight. And that's her little sister Monica. I love and adore these two.
They're not only smart and well-mannered, they're the sweetest, too!
I'm already looking forward to our next get-together!
Xiao Long Bao.
This is so good, the savory broth just bursts in your mouth.
I would love to go back to Shi Lin for this!
Pork and Shrimp Shaomai.
This was good, too, except that I loved the Xiao Long Bao more.
Pork and Shrimp Dumpling.
This tasted quite like the Shaomai, except that its dough is thinner.
After Shi Lin, we moved to The Cake Club for coffee, ensaymada, sugar (haha), laughter, and ghost stories.
This ensaymada is a must-try. Sweet and a bit salty (from the cheese) and incredibly soft, it melts in your mouth.
The yummiest ensaymada I've tried, so far.
