Reaching A Milestone.

It was quite magical and heartwarming. I was surrounded by family and true friends who wished me many good things. We had lots of food and laughter and conversations. I was very happy.

My friends made me feel very special and loved that night. They always do. I must have done someone really good with my life to be blessed with the truest friends.

Romulo Cafe was such a perfect venue. The food was good and the service, excellent. I loved the cafe's interiors. "So you!" My friends told me. Edeena was right. It was an inspired choice.

Here's sharing some photos of the celebration.

My friends got me this cake.
This is exactly what I wanted -- a white simple cake.
But beneath that white icing is a rainbow of colors! I super loved it!

These are, by far, the yummiest cupcakes I've tried!
A gift from my friends Val and Grace.

Because I cannot not have lechon on my birthday.
Roasted by a college friend who set up a lechon business here in Manila.

An idea by Edeena and Joy. And I think it was brilliant.

I had chocolate for favors with customized wrappers.
Had crispy crablets and pinoy nachos for appetizers.

We had Filipino food. I was so pleased with Cafe Romulo's food and service.
This: Pancit Puti, The General's Chicken, Tito Greg's Kare-Kare, Boneless Cripy Pata.

Bagnet Pakbet, Flying Tilapia, Lechon, and cakes.

[1-2] My sister Dionne surprised me by bringing
my Cebu-based Mom over to Manila. My sister Binky came over, too.
[3] Happy that my cousin Wadel and his wife made it to the party.
[4] Angela, Monica, and Edeena are like family to me and I'm happy they were there.

[1] I've been friends with Jennette and Noreen for over 15 years.
With these two, I can say anything and everything.
Val and I became friends only last year through my friend E, but she's certainly one of my favorite people on the planet.
[2] Then there's Badeth and Henry. I treasure my friendship with these two.
[3-4] I got lots of hugs that night! That's Rissa and Mecielo.

Kindred Spirit.
My friend Ces just arrived from the US that morning.
Still jet-lagged & tired from her trip, she went to the party all looking fabulous and happy!

I didn't have a program because I prefer simple celebrations,
but my friend Mecielo (who has a voice of an angel) sang "You've Got a Friend."
And because I have the coolest friends, everyone joined in the singing.
It was a heartwarming moment.

[1] This looks like a conference. *grin*
[2] Sharing a good laugh with Jennette and Noreen.
[3] I met Joanna, Joni, & Jane when I guested in PopTalk. They're the fab people behind the show.
[4] Mom enjoying conversations with my friends.

[1 & 3] Giving my speech. I wanted to say more but didn't because if I did,
I would cry. And I didn't want to cry.
[2] So, I can make my friends laugh. :P

Travel companions, dive buddies, true friends.
They are the kind of friends who will cancel flights if I need them (which they've already done some years back).
I consider them my family here in Manila.

Such stage-friends they are!
Got so many thoughtful gifts! THANK YOU!

. . . . .

Thank you, Mei! I actually wanted a travel-themed party (as suggested by my friend Chelo). But sadly, I didn't have enough time to pull off one. But yes, it was a wonderful party nonetheless. :)
