2012 was such an incredible year. It brought me many blessings and new experiences. In between, the universe sent a few surprises my way.
Many good things happened to my family last year --
My sister Abbie got married, started a small business, bought a two-bedroom condo in Ortigas, and the kids are in the honors list.
My Canada-based sister Azenith and her family moved into their five-bedroom house. The kids have been invited to sing in many important occasions, too. They sang during the Alberta Summer Games, for example. And that made us all very proud.
My sister Dionne appeared in two movies and a couple of teleseryes. She just got a good part in Paraiso and I heard she's doing a really fabulous job there.
My Mom, apart from being busy with her job, appeared in two indie films. She's also in the Titay's commercial.
As for me, my life in Makati revolves around work. Once in awhile, I take breaks and see friends, I travel, and if I still have time, I sleep.
Last year, I met a lot of really fascinating, inspiring couples and covered their weddings.
Apart from work, the universe threw in pleasant surprises --
* I got featured in two online travel sites.
* One of my photos got featured in Photo Digital UK. And recently, they wrote me that they are re-printing my photo for the January issue.
* Got some travel articles published in Cebu Daily News.
* Finally met Liza in person. And got to spend time with Noel, albeit quickly, when he dropped by Manila.
* Had a travel photo featured in a travel site.
* And because the universe has a wicked sense of humor, I appeared in a lifestyle TV show again.
I was (still am) incredibly grateful.
Many good things happened to my friends, too. And I am happy about their successes as I am of my own. I will always thank the heavens for giving me the kindest, smartest, most loyal friends.
One of my favorite things about 2012 was all the moments I spent with Angela, Monica, and Edeena. We four have become really good friends. And they have become my happy place.
2012 was quite a special year -- I turned 40.
I was also able to tick off two items in my Life List --
1) Visited Beijing again;
2) Took my Mom to a trip abroad.
I think that the Indochina trip with my Mom and my sister Dionne was the highlight of 2012.
The Library Building at the Angkor Wat. Siem Reap, Cambodia.
My friends Bambi and Chris traveled with us.
My sisters and I treated our Mom to a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangkok. Even though Mom travels a lot around the country, it was her first time abroad. My Mom is the coolest travel companion ever.
This year, my sisters and I would like to take her somewhere magical for her 60th birthday.
2012 wasn't devoid of some sadness, but it was, overall, an amazing year.
Thank you, 2012! Welcome 2013! I know you will be a bigger, brighter, happier, wealthier, more blessed, more meaningful year!
I am claiming it!
