Cebu Pacific lost my luggage. This is actually the second time something like this happened to me. The first time was when I arrived from my Switzerland trip some years back. The difference though between Cebu Pacific and Cathay is that Cathay knew exactly where my bag was and what time it will arrive. Cebu Pacific, sadly, was clueless.
I was just happy that the Cebu Pacific staff at the airport were very helpful and apologetic. After I signed the report they made, they assured me they will call me as soon as they find my bag (which they did). They also promised they'd deliver it to my home address. But they were not able to because apparently, they didn't have a driver available. Even though I was already very tired (didn't have much sleep the night before, plus I live in the boondocks of Consolacion), I drove back to the airport and picked it up. And because Cebu Pacific did not make good on their promise to deliver my bag (plus the stress they caused me), I half-jokingly said to the staff-on-duty: "You owe me a free ticket to somewhere." Ha!
My friend M texted me: Good thing you didn't do a Claudine Barretto at the airport. That made me laugh. Yes, I was stressed, but I also know my bag won't magically appear if I lash out at the Cebu Pacific staff. But I sure did give them a good, calm "You know, your airline is really very inefficient."
I am just glad and grateful I got my bag back, albeit five hours late.
